Common Oven Issues

Our technicians have the expertise needed to troubleshoot and repair your oven, regardless of the problem. Listed below are the most frequent issues we see:

Oven’s Self-Cleaning Feature Not Working

It’s great to have a modern oven, as most modern makes and models are designed to handle the work hard work of cleaning for you.
However, it sometimes happens that your oven’s self-cleaning cycle doesn’t work function properly, leading to frustration, and a whole lot of unwanted cleaning work. Most often, a malfunctioning self-cleaning cycle is caused by a faulty control board, but there are also other factors that can cause this common issue. Note that broken elements can also affect the self-cleaning feature on your oven.

An experienced technician will help you identify the main cause of your issue and restore your oven’s functionality quickly and efficiently.

No Internal Light

Typically, when the light goes out in your oven, it’s due to a burnt-out lightbulb. However, in some cases, your problem might be being caused by a deeper electrical issue, including a tripped fuse or breaker in your home’s main electrical panel. With that said, the first thing to do is to try and replace the bulb. If that works, great! But if not, start by checking that the unit is properly plugged in and that there are no tripped fuses or breakers at the panel. If you’re still having a power issue with your oven, don’t hesitate to call us for help!

Oven Door No Longer Shuts Properly

Having an oven door that doesn’t shut properly can feel like a nightmare, not to mention that it also represents a danger to your safety. So to identify the cause of your issue, start by performing a thorough inspection of the door to see if there are any visible obstructions. We subject the oven door hinges to the wear and tear process, so it should come as no surprise that these might need to be replaced one day. You might also want to inspect the door springs, as these can often wear out over time. If you’ve tried everything and your oven door still doesn’t close properly, it might just be time to schedule an appointment with a skilled repairman.

Jermain. was my repair man, he was very nice and friendly. He did fix my dryer. I thought the price was hi for what he had to do. That's not his fault. $120.09 just to walk in the house plus the repair cost. But it's done.

GE dishwasher stopped working, no power no lights. I called and they came out the following day. Sergio is professional and quick and repaired the dishwasher within a half an hour and it worked for about 20 days. Unfortunately the same issue happened again. I called and Sergio came back within a couple of days and fixed it no charge, Sergio identified a faulty connection and repaired it. I had also identified a leak somewhere behind the dishwasher. Sergio pulled the dishwasher out and found it was a bad drainage hose. I told him I could repair it myself and did so. He did not charge me for finding the leak. I would use them again.

Ramics Repairs. My stove was acting strange, losing the electrical connection. I had had it “repaired” before, using a different company, but the fix didn’t work. The Ramics technician was easy to talk to and was able to fix the problem quickly. A very positive and even delightful experience.

FAQ

Why is my oven not reaching the set temperature?

A failed bake element, igniter, temperature sensor, control, wiring issue, or calibration problem may prevent proper heating. Temperature should be tested over a complete heating cycle rather than judged from a single reading.

Why does my oven burn food even at the correct setting?

A faulty temperature sensor, stuck relay, control problem, damaged element, incorrect rack position, or calibration issue can cause overheating. Turn the oven off if it continues heating beyond the set temperature.

Can you repair gas, electric, wall, and double ovens?

Yes. We service many gas and electric ovens, including single wall ovens, double ovens, and range ovens. Provide the model number and any error code when booking.

What should I do if I smell gas near my oven?

Turn the appliance off, avoid flames and electrical switches, leave the area, and contact the gas utility or emergency services from a safe location. Do not use the oven again until the source of the gas odor has been professionally evaluated.

Why is my oven door not closing properly?

Bent hinges, worn hinge receivers, a damaged gasket, misaligned panels, or a locked latch can keep the door from sealing. A poor seal can cause uneven cooking and excessive heat around the appliance.
